Apollo to introduce revolutionary new software packages at Seatrade Miami 2002

MIAMI, Fla.(March 12, 2002) - Apollo Ship Chandlers, Inc., the cruise industry's largest independent catering company, will introduce a revolutionary new line of software packages at the Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention in Miami Beach March 11-15. The packages have been custom designed expressly for cruise line, hospitality and warehouse/distribution use.

According to President Rafael A.Ordoņez, the software programs were initially written exclusively for Apollo use; however, the tremendous positive response generated led the company to further development for third-party use. Noted Ordoņez, "For a long time, we've been planning to capitalize on our depth of resources to expand and diversify Apollo's product and service lines. The outstanding software packages we designed for ourselves elicited so much outside interest, bringing them on the market was the next logical step."

Drawing from the company's decades of experience catering luxury cruise ships, Apollo's new line of software features five different packages. All have been created in-house by Apollo's own program developers.

The Food and Beverage Control System for onboard use, provides inventory, ordering and consumption information as well as beverage revenue and gratuity tracking, plus meal count and menu item consumption data.

The Human Resources System, tailored for both cruise and hospitality use, facilitates recruiting and significantly expedites scheduling and human resources management. Based on need, various levels of automation are available. Additionally, an onboard module is in the development stages.

Apollo's Culinary System gives shipboard users the capacity to create, update and cost-out recipes and menus, with additional scaling, reporting and analysis capabilities. The system also incorporates recipe presentation features, in combination with production management and forecasting.

The Order Processing and Inventory Management System is designed to manage the operation of warehouses and distribution centers for both small businesses and large corporations. With state-of-the-art order processing, inventory management and reporting features, this software has successfully streamlined Apollo's purchasing department and it promises to generate equally significant results for other users.

Lastly, Apollo's Reservations System is recommended for use by any tour and travel enterprise engaged in activities that require control of accommodations inventory and package options. The software also offers a wide selection of user-defined options, such as the ability to create and market packages and add-ons. Tailor-made for cruise line and hospitality reservations, Discovery Cruise Line is already using this system with outstanding results in terms of speed, efficiency and increased sales revenue.

For more than three decades, Apollo Ship Chandlers has been an industry leader, providing award-winning cruise line food, beverage and housekeeping services. The company's roster of past and current cruise clients includes Dolphin Cruise Lines, Majesty Cruise Lines, Celebrity Cruises, Paquet French Cruises and Renaissance Cruises.
